The whole platform feels much more functional as a result, and even though the update only arrived four months back, the App Store is already awash with awesome widgets. Having pointed out some great widgets for you to try out on numerous occasions before, we’re back with a handful more, so if you want to get the very most out of your iOS 8-ready device, you can find the round-up below.

If you’re a music fan and Mac owner, then this great little NC widget will turn your iPhone or iPad into a remote control for music playback. And the widget supports a handful of apps, including iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, VOX and VLC.

The idea itself is nothing new – iOS and OS X are intertwined throughout – but the convenience of having control right from the Notification Center is a sure-fire winner.

Another audio-related widget, Music Center lets you view your entire music library directly from the Notification Center. Whether you’re on the lock screen or in-app, you can readily browse, skip, play or pause your music with consummate ease, and given that it’s also free, is definitely worth a look.

Since iOS 8, the App Store has been inundated with weather widgets, but Sunrise Sunset offers a welcome break from the norm. Instead of letting you know of the temperature, or when and if it will rain, this simple, elegant widget presents you with details of sunrise and sunset.

If you can't wait to get your hands on Gear VR, you can pick it up for 199 USD, but you'll need aGalaxy Note 4 to pair it with. Unfortunately, Oculus still doesn't have any news on a consumer version of the Oculus Rift, so you may just have to live vicariously for now or fork out for a Gear VR. As for the VR porn demo, I'll leave tracking that one down up to you.

Boxer Amir Khan wife launches her YouTube channel for beauty tips

British born Pakistani Boxer Amir Khan’s gorgeous wife Faryal Makhdoom has just announced on her Facebook page that she is going to open her official YouTube channel in which you’ll find her giving special beauty tips to all the fashion loving ladies out there.

She said that other than providing beauty tips and make up related stuff, she would give fans a glimpse of her relationship and rollercoaster lifestyle through her new online video channel.

The very first 58 second video clip sees Faryal introduces herself to viewers and show her naughty side by jumping out to ‘boo’ her unsuspecting husband at their home.

The fashion and beauty fan, who studied political science and journalism, says, “Obviously, from my accent, you can tell I’m a New Yorker but currently I live in the UK”.

“I will be sharing my everyday lifestyle and my relationship with my husband, my daughter and, of course, make-up and beauty.

“I’m so excited to be sharing this all with you so enjoy the rollercoaster – from travelling with my world-famous husband to my every day make-up tutorials. I hope you all stay tuned and enjoy the ride with me.”

Faryal married Amir in January 2012 after the pair met in her native New York. They both are active on social media and keep updating their posts.

How To Find Owner Of A Lost iPhone Using Siri

Lost iPhones are a real problem, especially now that we spend so much time on the smartphones which invariably means they’re full to the brim with important information not just about us, but our family, friends, and the work we do.

You don’t want to lose it all, do you?

From the other side of the equation though, what can you do if you find a lost iPhone and want to attempt to reunite it with its owner? Beyond the obvious steps of handing it in at the police station or similar authority you can just ask Siri who the iPhone belongs to.

Assuming the owner of the iPhone has Siri activated and has it set up for use from the lock screen, finding an owner’s identity can be done with the simple request of "who does this phone belong to?"

What you will get back is the owner’s contact card as specified in the iPhone’s settings. That card can be specified under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then the My Info option.

The important thing to remember here though, as an iPhone owner, is that the information shown will be everything in that contact including phone numbers, addresses, notes etc. While you’ll probably want anyone who finds your iPhone to be able to call you, do you really want them turning up at your front door? Probably not, no.

With that in mind we’d recommend creating a contact specifically for this use, giving it a phone number and perhaps a note explaining that you may offer a reward for the phone’s safe return. This way anyone who knows how to ask Siri who owns an iPhone won’t also know your work telephone number, too.

Of course, all of this relies on the person finding your phone to both be trustworthy and know that this Siri feature either exists.

Unfortunately, neither can be guaranteed.

Microsoft Releases Office for Tablets, New Outlook App

Microsoft has finally released a fresh version of Outlook for Android and iOS devices. The new fully featured variant is actually a revamped version of the email app Acompli that the company acquired for $200 million just about a couple of months ago.

The new Outlook app looks awfully similar to Acompli as it shares the same code base. However, Microsoft plans on updating it by the week to make subtle changes. There are advantages of some of the similarities that Acompli and Oulook share, though. Quick access to contacts, calendar, files and mail are some of these. This should remind you of the desktop version of Microsoft Outlook.

In addition, the revamped version is set to support Exchange, Gmail, Outlook.com, Office 365, Yahoo! Mail and even more email providers. Users will be able to utilize cloud services like Dropbox and OneDrive to share their attachments. A number of swipe gestures that have been a key feature of Acompli are supported in the new variant. You may customize the swipes such that a swipe deletes or archives an email for you to return to at a later time.

While the official Outlook release for iOS is complete, the Android variant’s is still in its preview state, given the relatively wide ecosystem of Android devices. Don’t go away disappointed if you are an Android tablet owner; though, Microsoft has taken the preview label off of the Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). You could simply head to the Google Play Store using your tablet, and get these for free now.

Microsoft is determined to gather sufficient data to make the apps function on the rest of the devices. Android tablets powered by the Intel processors are said to receive the apps within a quarter, according to Microsoft. It would be fair to assume that it will be generally available across the entire Android ecosystem about the same time.

Image of older Samsung Galaxy S6 prototypes leak; back matches picture of Galaxy S6 cases

One of our loyal PhoneArena readers has sent us a very interesting image that he claims shows older prototypes of the Samsung Galaxy S6. While we do recommend heading to the spice rack and grabbing a grain of salt to take the image with, there are some reasons to believe that this is the real McCoy. The position of the back camera and the flash/heart rate sensor matches up perfectly with the image of a case for Sammy's new flagship that we showed you the other day.

It was back in November when the word first leaked out that Samsung would be designing the Galaxy S6 "from scratch." There is no question that Samsung is a downward spiral as Apple caught up to it and both rivals shared the top spot by shipping 74.5 million smartphones in the fourth quarter. And China, where Sammy used to be on top, is also taking to the two new iPhone models as Apple has grabbed the top spot there as well.

Just this morning, Samsung announced a 27% drop in fourth quarter profits. This comes the day following the release of Apple's truly amazing calendar fourth quarter earnings.

While you are examining the picture below, keep in mind that it is allegedly an older prototype model. That means that changes most likely have been made, so before you start playing your favorite melancholy songs and crying yourself to sleep, it is quite probable that the Samsung Galaxy S6 won't look anything like the phones in the picture.
