During a recent meeting with the delegation of China Railways and Norinco International China, the Cheif Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has signed an agreement to run Orange Metro Train in Lahore.
The Orange Line Metro Train will cover a 27 kilometre long track, having 26 stations throughout the route.
The Chief Minister said this project reflects the strong ties between Pakistan and China and added that the train will provide speedy, comfortable and affordable transport facilities to the citizens.
More than 2 lac people would be able to travel daily by means of Orange Metro Train.
The route of train will comprise of Thokar Niaz Beg, Multan Road, Chauburji, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk, Railway Station, Garhi Shahu, GT Road, Pakistan Mint and Dera Gujjaran.
It seems like Punjab government is focusing more and more on the provision of transportation facilities for the citizens and Orange Metro train will be an additional way to ensure this.
Apart from this, the Government of Punjab has also announced to provide scooties to the female students and employees of the government sector, but on easy installments and the project will take the leap from Lahore on trial basis, followed by other cities of Punjab.
