The world of extravagance is always trying to come up with something to best what was released last year. In this case, a limited edition gold Nokia Lumia 830 were leaked. Pictures from the Chinese social network Weibo have shown off an unreleased device completely in gold with a leather back, according to Techno Buffalo. Anyone interested in owning a completely gold device should probably pony up more money than the phone is actually worth, though.
Now, Microsoft officially revealed the gold phones, and there are two: the Nokia Lumia 830 and Lumia 930. Both smartphones will offer an anodized gold finish. However, if you’re expecting any advanced specifications to go along with the new golden finish, you will be sorely upset, as Microsoft has left the very same internal technology within the phone as their regular versions. The mobile devices will be available in either black or white, and both will offer the premium gold finish, according to a blog post.
The gold trim on both devices looks quite good, and doesn’t appear tacky in the least bit. Microsoft is a little late to the party, though, especially considering Apple has been doing gold makeovers for their own mobile devices for quite some time know. However, better late than never, and with two devices that look as good as these, it’s a good thing they took their time releasing them.
Microsoft intends to release the Nokia Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and China. Unfortunately, neither phone has been revealed for the United States, and no word on whether the devices will be sold in India has been announced either.
The Nokia Lumia 930 will be available in black to start and then white near the end of January. The Nokia Lumia 830 will be available in both colors in February, though official dates were not given, nor was a price tag for either.
