We recently asked our readers which device they would prefer to own, the Galaxy S6 or the Galaxy S6 Edge. Of course, at this point it's purely hypothetical, but we already have some ideas on how these two devices will turn out, and what the core differences will be. So which would our readers prefer?
The Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to arrive with not one, but two sloped edges, offering functionality like that seen on the brilliant Galaxy Note Edge. However, this might not be the most important difference for the hardcore Galaxy fanbase: the Galaxy S6 Edge variant is also expected to have a removable back panel, allowing for a microSD card slot and a removable battery, neither of which are expected on the standard Galaxy S6.
The most important information we have on the Galaxy S6 so far is that it will come with a metal unibody and suspected waterproof design. But which device would our readers prefer?
It was a close race but the Galaxy S6 Edge proved itself to be more popular in the end, claiming 55% of the votes. Judging by user comments and reaction, it looks like people are keen to retain the essentials like battery and storage options, even if some are nonplussed by the potential of dual side-screens. We still don't know exactly what the Galaxy S6 is really going to add to the series, but its prospects have clearly already angered some fans.
We're receiving leaks about the Galaxy S6 on a daily basis now and it's becoming increasingly difficult to separate theories into the "probable" and "unlikely" categories – but right now it seems one thing is certain: Samsung's plans for the S6 and S6 Edge are going to cause a real stir.
What do you think? Do you think there will be a clear winner between the S6 and S6 Edge, or will it come down to user-preference?
