Steve Jobs Movie Finally Starts Filming At The Iconic Garage Where Apple Was Started

Sunday, 18 January 2015

The much talked about and often actor-less Steve Jobs biopic penned by Aaron Sorkin has finally begun filming, with Steve Jobs’ former home being kitted out and ready for action.
The home, made famous when Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak launched Apple out of its garage, was undergoing work to make it look like it would in the 1970s yesterday with filming all set to take place. Steve Jobs is now being played by Michael Fassbender and Wozniak will be played by Seth Rogen – both of which will be filming in the house’s infamous garage in order to create the events that saw the first Apple-I computer being created. Once filming at Jobs’ former home is complete, film crews are expected to move on to areas in San Jose and Berkeley.

The role of Jobs has been a problematic one for Sorkin to fill, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale said to have turned it down. The casting of Fassbender is much less controversial than the addition of Rogen as Wozniak though, with the former more famous for his comedic acting than portraying computer geniuses. Coming hot off the hugely controversial and hack-inducing The Interview, Rogen may be looking for something a little more down-to-Earth this time around though.
The movie, which will be directed by Trainspotting’s Danny Boyle, will follow the Jobs story as written by his biographer Walter Isaacson and cover the launch of some of Apple’s most iconic products including the iPod and the original Macintosh.

Other stars set for roles in the movie include Kate Winslet and Jeff Daniels, both set for prominent roles as the leading female and former Apple CEO John Sculley, respectively. It’s not yet known exactly who Winslet will be portraying, with Jobs’ daughter Lisa a possibility though Winslet may be more suited to the role of Apple’s former PR lead Katie Cotton.
