Samsung rumored to cut bloatware on Galaxy S6

Sunday 1 February 2015

While Samsung consistently earns top marks for design, their Android phones and tablets are often plagued by bulky bloatware. However, now it looks like Samsung is moving to cut the bloatware crap ahead of the release of the Galaxy S6.

According to SamMobile:
"the company is removing every add-on feature that can be downloaded as an application, and slimming down the software by a wide margin in the process."
Right now, it’s unclear which applications and features would be impacted, but it is speculated that “Story Album, S Translator, or even S Voice” will be the first ones to go.
At AndroidPIT, we consider bloatware as "junk apps on your device that you don't need, that you can't delete and [that] eat up valuable storage space." Earlier this year, we learned that Samsung isreworking TouchWiz to trim down unnecessary bloat. A refreshed user interface could eliminate the lags and bugs that have plagued older Samsung phones. The improved TouchWiz should debut on the Galaxy S6, when the phone is announced at MWC 2015.
What do you think about Samsung’s approach to cutting bloatware? What else do you think they should do to improve the user’s experience?
