Samsung hints that its upcoming models including Galaxy S6 will be having a new technology through which they will be charged wirelessly.
The Korean tech giant is working on wireless charging technology since late 2000 and it was a revolutionary step when they were able to make Qi magnetic induction along with other companies under the banner of wireless power consortium in 2008. This technology was used in Samsung Galaxy S (also known as Samsung Droid charge) for the first time in 2011.
Undoubtedly, Qi charge was a landmark in the wireless power transfer but it has its own limitations as it used magnetic induction for device charging so the alignment of the device on the stand was compulsory. Additionally, it was unable to charge multiple devices at the same time and metallic things like keys, coins etc. also interrupt its process of charging.
To overcome all these issues and to provide more flexibility to consumers, a further advanced technology is used named as “Rezence”, which is based on the principles of magnetic resonance, therefore, has vast capabilities and features as compared to Qi.
This technology has a superior charging range and is ready to face the real world shortly when keys, coins or other such things will not affect the charging process of the device.
It has the capability to charge multiple devices at the same time so users can charge their tablets, smartphones or other Rezende enabled devices at the same time. This technology is Bluetooth enabled and can also charge your device using smart Bluetooth connection.
If we are on the right track as Samsung hints, then Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will be able to charge wirelessly on any charging surface without any interruption.
