The instant SMS alert service for the lawyers of the petitioners regarding the information of the sessions and the date has been started by the government.
The petitioner is also included in the plan to get informed however the suggestion to start awareness campaign through media regarding this is still under consideration.
Lahore High Court had inaugurated this plan three years ago to facilitate the lawyers of the petitioners to inform them about the session and the dates but these SMSs were not being forwarded immediately due to which the lawyers were facing difficulties in filing the petitions for the cases.
The action has been retaken while keeping in mind the problems faced by lawyers and the petitioners who come from far off places for the hearing of the cases and sometimes had to face disappointment in the form of delay of the session due to protest or any other law and order issue.
The Reform Judge of Lahore High Court, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has given directions to High Court’s Information and Technology Department and now the SMS alert service has been started again to inform relevant lawyers with timely services.
According to sources, the proposal to inform the petitioners about the session and the dates is also ready in the High Court and if the petitioners mark their mobile numbers while filing a case, then they will also be informed regarding the case fixing, relevant court and the dates.
